If you are currently overseas and planning to move to Shanghai, our team will be happy to arrange a virtual tour and meeting with our head of phases.
The admissions portal will remain open for the duration of your admissions journey. You can log in to the portal to view your progress and submit documents at any time, you will also receive a notification when there is an update. However, please note that once you submit forms and sign documents, you will no longer be able to make edits. If you have previously enquired to the school, please use the same email address to login to the portal because this helps us to identify you.
STEP 1: Enquiry/School tour
We look forward to welcoming you to Britannica. During your first visit, we will:
Introduce you to Britannica International School Shanghai.
Discuss your child’s educational needs and suitability for our school and curriculum.
Provide a school tour with our admission team.
Introduce you to our Principal, Mr. Paul Farrell.
Answer any specific questions you may have regarding the admission procedure, our curriculum, school routines, timetables, after school activities, and transport.
It is important to us that during this visit you acquire as much information about our school as possible to ensure you are making the right choice for your child.
STEP 2: Applying
When you are ready to apply for a place for your child at Britannica, we will require a completed online application form.
Following documents will also be required to upload onto the application portal:
A copy of your child’s birth certificate
A copy of your child’s passport
A copy of the parents/guardian(s) and child’s residence permit
A copy of parent/guardian(s) work permit
A copy of your child’s medical insurance card
A copy of your child’s school report
A copy of your child’s immunisation record
Tow passport photos
Where a year group is full and an applicant has met the entry requirements of the schools, your child will be placed on the waiting list, provided payment of the registration fee has been made.
STEP 3: Assessment and Second visit
On receipt of the application form and documentation, we will organise a meeting with the Principal which will include a formal assessment.
We assess all students in order to evaluate their cognitive ability, communication skills, interaction and social skills to ensure that our school is right for your child and that your child will achieve their maximum potential whilst at our school.Step 4: Offer and Welcome
Providing the child has met both the admission criteria (outlined by Shanghai Municipal Government) and passed the entry assessment, place will be offered by our Principal.
To secure your child’s place, you will be asked to pay the registration fee and deposit. The deposit will be fully refunded providing all accounts have been settled, all school property has been returned and early notice submitted. The registration fee is not refundable if the child does not attend the school after enrolment and a place has been reserved.
