Dear Parents,
We are pleased to inform you that formal Baseline Assessments will take place for all new students next week.
If your child is new to school in Years 1 to 10, they will be assessed in English, Mathematics, Science (for some year groups) and in their Cognitive Reasoning (for some year groups).
Delivering the Best of British Education to our students, we are proud of the fact that we are one of the few schools in Shanghai who use assessments that are designed in the UK and directly measure your child’s attainment against the average UK child. This ensures that our teachers have confidence on the level of attainment and progress your child is making compared to UK standards and effectively informs their teaching to ensure that they provide specifically for your child’s needs in the classroom.
No preparation is necessary for your child and they will be supervised in school during the assessment by a teacher other than their Form Teacher, to ensure that we achieve good standardisation across classes.
