With GCSE exams approaching for our Year 11 students, writing technique and content revision are now the focuses of our History lessons. Investing time into these areas will help the students to achieve the best outcomes possible in their exams, and to reduce the stress that naturally arises during these periods. Diligence, in class and especially during students’ own time, is the key factor to academic success!
To support their GCSE preparation this week, our Year 11 students wrote responses to exam questions during lesson. Using a document viewer, we were then able to study the students’ work and suggest improvements based on the exam rubric. After receiving this feedback, the students were able to rewrite or amend their work. This cycle – of practice, feedback, redraft – is of paramount importance to making academic progress. When adequate effort is applied in a timely manner, any student can improve themselves and achieve better results in their exams.
