I would like to thank all Secondary parents who were able to attend the consultation evening on Wednesday this week. There were a record number of parents in attendance which both the academic teaching staff and I were delighted to see. Home-school communication is one of the most important and necessary factors in developing good relationships between classroom teams and families. Please do feel able to contact any member of secondary staff should you wish to discuss any issues regarding your child.
Our Year 9, 10 and 12 artists visited ‘The Power Station of Art’ exhibition this week, accompanied by Ms Christoforatou, Head of Art. Student feedback from this trip was positive and strongly links with their current curriculum in Art. Please do enjoy some of the pictures of this trip below.
Mr Rosenberg attended a workshop this week which concentrated on ‘world class approaches for learning mathematics’. There are two more workshops in the coming weeks and I look forward to the Mathematics provision at Britannica being further strengthened as a result of this.
After the half-term break students in Years 11, 12 and 13 will begin the next round of external IGCSE and A Level examinations and I would like to wish them the best of luck with their studies and preparations.
There will also be a series of university visits and presentations after the break, which I will write to parents in more detail.
On behalf of the entire Secondary staff I wish you and your family a safe and enjoyable half term break.
Kind Regards,
Paul Farrell
Vice Principal and Head of Secondary
