This week Early Years celebrated ‘World Nursery Rhyme Week,' by immersing children in a collection of classic and modern nursery rhymes. Nursery rhymes play a pivotal role in fostering early childhood development, particularly in language acquisition and literacy development. The repetitive nature of nursery rhymes allows children to recognise and understand patterns in speech, expanding their vocabulary and language capabilities.
The children enjoyed learning a new rhyme each day as part of the week and each class performed their own rhyme at our Nursery Rhyme celebration this morning whilst they enjoyed the homemade sandwiches, biscuits and fruit-infused water that they had prepared in class with their friends.
We are confident that the tradition of sharing the joy of nursery rhymes with the children will continue.
