Our devoted team of specialist English teachers are eager to inspire and support our students in their literary journeys. This term, students will explore a diverse range of literature, including classic novels, modern novels, contemporary poetry, and meaningful essays. Key themes this term will include identity, society, hope and social justice. We encourage students to engage deeply with the texts and participate in class discussions.
Since returning to school, the students have settled nicely back into their daily routines and I have been very impressed with what I have so far witnessed within the classroom.
Alongside Mr. Louw, Mrs. Crew-Hall and myself, the English department has more than twenty-five years of shared teaching experience. We are ideally positioned to ensure your child gets the best possible learning experience.
I am also very pleased to announce the return of Mr. Edwards. He has returned to Britannica this year and will be working alongside the English department as our secondary EAL Co-Ordinator. Having previously worked at Britannica as Head of English, Mr. Edwards is keenly aware of the needs of the student cohort and as such, is well-situated to cater for their individual needs.
We have thoroughly enjoyed being back in the classroom with all of our students and look forward to the year ahead.
