We are delighted to share the vibrant festivities that took place in our Primary Mandarin classes during the Mid-Autumn Festival. This significant celebration, also known as the Moon Festival, occurs on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month and is steeped in rich cultural traditions and profound emotions.
Throughout the week, our students engaged in a variety of experiential activities designed to deepen their understanding of the customs associated with the Mid-Autumn Festival. They participated in activities such as riddle guessing and fan designing, which not only enhanced their knowledge of the festival but also nurtured their aesthetic and creative skills.
One of the highlights of the week was the opportunity for students to make mooncakes by hand. We prepared an assortment of molds, with those featuring the school logo proving particularly popular among the children. This hands-on activity allowed students to appreciate the charm of traditional culture while experiencing the joy of creating their own mooncakes.
Additionally, our senior students took on the roles of “Hou Yi and Chang E” and delivered a captivating performance for their junior peers. This event fostered communication and cooperation among students, enriching their collaborative skills.
At Britannica, we are committed to making Mandarin learning both enjoyable and educational. Our approach intertwines knowledge acquisition with engaging activities, creating a relaxed atmosphere that promotes skill development. This multifaceted approach not only enhances learning but also provides far-reaching benefits for our students.
