As we embark on the final term of the academic year, I am delighted to see the enriching activities awaiting our Secondary students. This term promises to be a time of exploration, growth, and achievement as we explore a range of academic, extracurricular, and personal development experiences.
At the heart of our school lies a commitment to academic excellence. This term, our teachers are committed to ensure that our Year 11 -13 students are well prepared for their IGCSE and A Level Examinations. Coursework is due to be sent to the UK for moderation and the first written examination takes place on April 25th. As always we wish all of our students the best of luck this summer.
As the date for the residential trips draw closer, I would like to remind you that there is still time to sign up. It is my firm belief that residential trips can be a key aspect of our learning process. The diverse and high-quality activities run by Insight Adventures create experiences that enhance students’ classroom learning, adding opportunities they may not otherwise have. The exciting and fun activities are for students to enjoy but are chosen with specific goals in mind – whether it’s confidence building, team work to encourage pupils to work together, or to encourage independence and a sense of personal responsibility. As well as the physical health benefits, residential trips have been proven to have a positive effect on self-esteem and confidence levels, thereby improving their emotional health and well-being. Residential trips are not just beneficial but vital to providing balance and a renewed enthusiasm for learning. Therefore, I strongly encourage your child's participation.
Parent Teacher Meetings are organised for next Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th April. I often talk about the importance of a positive home - school partnership and the benefits it brings for a student's personal growth and overall well being. If you have not already done so, I would encourage all parents to book an appointment to speak directly with their child's subject teachers. You will receive an accurate indication of progress and attainment to date, strengths and weaknesses plus strategies for improvement.
