As we dive into the third term, we are filled with excitement about the amazing growth and development we’ll witness in our children. After two terms of exploration and discovery together, they have built strong friendships and made wonderful progress in their learning journeys.

This term, we can’t wait to see the children’s confidence soar. They will embrace new challenges with enthusiasm, showing greater independence in their play and learning. We’ll encourage them to explore their creativity and problem-solving skills, helping them to think outside the box. We will continue to offer activities that spark their curiosity, whether through hands-on projects, imaginative play, or scientific exploration.

With their growing curiosity, we anticipate vibrant discussions as they express their thoughts and ideas more clearly. In our welcoming environment, each child will feel empowered to share their discoveries. This interaction will not only enhance their communication skills but also foster a deeper understanding of the topics we explore together.

Their social skills will shine as they collaborate, share, and support each other, fostering a strong sense of community in our classroom. We will focus on teamwork and empathy, encouraging the children to appreciate different perspectives and work together towards common goals. This will help them build lasting friendships and learn the value of cooperation.

As this final term in their current year groups approaches, we are dedicated to ensuring each child feels excited and ready for the next steps in their education. We will provide opportunities for self-reflection, allowing them to recognise their achievements and set new goals.

Parents will also be involved in this journey, as we invite you to participate in various activities and events. Your engagement is invaluable in reinforcing a love for learning at home and helping your child thrive in this vibrant community.

Pre-nursery kids knowing about water

Pre-Nursery has had a busy week learning about mixing colours to create new ones through the story "Little Blue, Little Yellow." They also had fun exploring colours by melting ice and observing the beautiful transformations that occur. Through the book, we discussed friendships, who our friends are, and how we treat them. The children loved singing the rainbow song and enjoyed the lovely weather in the garden.

This week, with the sunshine shining down, the Nursery children enjoyed plenty of outdoor activities. They watered our growing flowers and delighted in nurturing the garden. For our story, we continued with "The Very Hungry Caterpillar." The children are captivated by the caterpillar's transformation, and they’ve become confident in explaining the butterfly life cycle using their new vocabulary. In addition to reading and gardening, the Nursery has been using their imaginations to move like minibeasts! They buzzed like bees, fluttered like butterflies, and crawled like caterpillars to different tempos of music.

In Reception, we enjoyed plenty of outdoor time, focusing on our garden as we worked to revive some plants by watering them and plucking old flowers. In class, we continued our phonics journey, reviewing Phase 3 digraphs with an emphasis on recognition and reading words, extending our skills into writing CVC words and captions. In Maths, we began exploring British penny coins and recognising their value. The children's fascination with rainbows during our 'ai' phonics unit inspired an artistic activity, where they created their own rainbows using glue, cotton buds, and water pipettes. We also read "I Can Eat the Rainbow" by Olena Rose, highlighting the importance of eating fruits and vegetables—a topic we will explore further this term!
