Chrisna was born and raised in South Africa. She graduated with a B.Ed in Foundation Phase (Ages 5-9) from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. After completing her studies, Chrisna taught Year 2 students for two years in South Africa. She has been teaching in Shanghai, China, for seven years, with this being her third year at Britannica International School.
At Britannica, Chrisna strongly aligns with the school’s values of Excellence, Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, and Compassion. She believes these principles not only enhance the learning environment but also empower students to become thoughtful, engaged global citizens. As the Cross-Phase English Coordinator, Chrisna plays a crucial role in enhancing the English curriculum across different year groups. She has completed her Talk for Writing training, which is now being implemented to support students in developing their writing skills through structured storytelling techniques.
Chrisna is dedicated to guiding Britannica students in becoming the best versions of themselves while nurturing a lifelong love for learning. Her commitment to implementing effective strategies and fostering a supportive atmosphere enables students to reach their full potential. Through her leadership, she aims to inspire a passion for reading and writing that will last a lifetime.
