Gemma was born and raised in the breathtaking Highlands of Scotland. She pursued her studies at Edinburgh Napier University, where she earned a degree in Communication, Advertising, and Public Relations. During her time in her home country, Gemma dedicated a decade to working in childcare across the North of Scotland, where she supported children with additional and complex needs.

Five years ago, Gemma relocated to China, equipped with her EAL (English as an Additional Language) training. She spent two years teaching in Foshan before continuing her journey in Shanghai, where she has taught for an additional three years before joining Britannica.

Recently, Gemma achieved her PGCE certification, further enhancing her teaching credentials. At Britannica International School Shanghai, she has continued to develop her skills and contribute to a vibrant learning community. With a total of over 15 years of experience in education and childcare, Gemma is passionate about fostering inclusive environments that support every child's growth and learning.
