Yang Jie was born in China and raised in Lancashire, UK, giving her a unique cultural perspective that enhances her approach to teaching. She has a First-Class Honours degree in Chemistry and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) from Birmingham, where she honed her expertise in both subject knowledge and pedagogy.
Throughout her career, Yang Jie has worked in a diverse range of urban and suburban schools in Birmingham, adapting her teaching style to meet the varied needs of her students. Her experience in these settings allowed her to refine her skills in creating engaging, inclusive and effective learning environments.
Now in her fifth year at Britannica, Yang Jie is deeply committed to fostering a love of Science in her students. She is passionate about helping them develop critical thinking skills, encouraging curiosity, and guiding them toward academic success.
