Excitement and energy has filled the Secondary corridors this week with students’ focus being on an array of exciting Chinese New Year activities.
Monday morning saw our Secondary students kicking off the week of celebrations with a dramatic dragon dance performance accompanied by our junior drum line group. This was both engaging and a great example of cross-phase collaboration.
The KS2 and Secondary performance on Thursday morning was a wonderful event. I would like to congratulate all students and the Mandarin teaching department on their efforts. It can often be challenging to organise performances which have a great deal of variety and creativity. I am sure those of you who were able to attend would agree our children achieved this and more!
Elsewhere in Secondary our KS4 scientists started experimenting with data loggers. Light gates, motion sensors, pressure sensors and laptop computers were all being used to carry out some advanced scientific investigations. Ms Van Balveren will introduce this new technology to our KS3 students later this term.
On behalf of all the Secondary staff at Britannica I would like to wish you and your families a very happy and prosperous new year. Xīnnián kuàilè
