The Spring holiday seemed to pass in a blur, and we have already completed our first week back in school. However, there was a memorable football match that took place between the teachers and parents that was enjoyed by all. My control has somewhat eluded me over the years so I may have to suggest touch rugby for the rematch. This term promises to be just as busy as previously. As well as the external examinations that are taking place there will be the Swimming Gala and Sports Day to look forward to. We will complete our House events for the year and will find out the overall Secondary House Champions. The Year 7, 8 & 9 students will be busy with their STEM projects and, there could be an opportunity for our students to engage in some off site activities. I would like to take the opportunity on behalf of myself and the teachers to wish good luck to all of our students taking their IGCSE and A Level exams.

Message from the Head Boy & Girl
Here are a few words of encouragement for those of us who will be undergoing external examinations in the upcoming weeks. This is an important time for all of us, so it is vital that we revise as much as possible and remain focused in order to achieve the best possible outcome as these exams will have enormous bearing on our futures.
It’s important that we understand that while we have a designated exam leave, the advice would be to come in so you can revise with your peers and have access to your teachers whenever you need them. Although we may feel more comfortable in our homes, immersing ourselves in an academic environment will allow us to stay focused at this crucial time. The only downside being we have to put up with tense friends.
For those of us who have been stressing ourselves through excessive revising, just remember that knowledge is better retained when we relax and reflect on what we have learnt. So always take time to switch off from your studies and allow yourself to have some fun, but not too much.
Hard work is the most important key to success. Without being willing to work hard and put everything into your studies, you could end up regretting not having the opportunity to present the best possible version of yourself.
As Vidal Sassoon once said “The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary.”
