This week has been an exciting one for secondary as the Year 9’s have just finished creating their very own escape rooms. Older students and teachers were then given the opportunity to solve them, some managed to escape and some didn’t. The escape rooms used a variety of Mathematics to; break codes, find specific locations on maps, narrow down a suspect, crack safes, create an object based on designs and even use lasers! I was impressed with the students' creativity and how they developed their rooms. I was also pleased with how they used their mathematical skills and implemented them into their rooms. I look forward to doing this activity again with a different cohort next year.
